BAGASSE-BASED CARBON SPHERES/GRAPHENE COMPOSITE AND ITS ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES
Bagasse is an important agricultural biomass resource with abundant sources,high reactivity and high biocompatibility.In this study,the NaOH/Urea solution was used as a green solvent to dissolve bagasse at low temperature.The bagasse/graphene composite was further obtained by the hydrothermal treatment between bagasse and graphene oxide.Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectra,X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy(SEM)were used for analyzing its structure and morphology.The results showed that the structure and of morphology of bagasse were changed hugely after dissolution.CelluloseⅠwas changed to CelluloseⅡ.Hemicellulose and lignin can be dissolved in NaOH/Urea solution completely.In hydrothermal process,the reactant ratio,reaction temperature and reaction time had notable effect on the structure of composite.It was found that the active groups from bagasse can promote the reduction of graphene oxide while graphene oxide can increase the carbonization degree of bagasse.Furthermore,bagasse was transformed into carbon spheres.The carbon spheres had the diameter of about 200 nm and were distributed on the graphene sheet,which can effectively prevent the aggregation of graphene layers and increase the specific surface area.Finally,the bagasse/graphene composite was used as the electrode material for the supercapacitor and its electrochemical performance was investigated.The results showed the capacitance performance can be meliorated by increasing the reaction temperature and reaction time.The bagasse/graphene composite showed a high specific capacitance of 192.8 F g-1 at a current density of 1 A·g-1.When the current density was 10 A·g-1,the capacitance retention rate was 60.9%,showing good rate capability.
