GELS PREPARED BY CHITIN NANOFIBER DISPERSED IN DIFFERENT ACIDS
Crab shell derived from alpha-chitin was partial deacetylated under alkaline conditions and treated with ultrasonication to obtain chitin nanofiber.Thereafter,the as-prepared chitin nanofiber were dispersed in five different acidic dispersion media including acetic acid(AA),gluconic acid(GA),itaconic acid(IA),citric acid(CA)and ascorbic acid(Vc),respectively.The chitin nanofiber hydrogels were formed under alkali coagulation bath and were lyophilized to obtain the chitin nanofiber based aerogels.Chitin nanofiber hydrogel soft and transparent with excellent water-retaining ability.Mechanical properties of these hydrogels were characterized by rheometer,the results showed that the dispersion medium has obvious influence on the mechanical properties of hydrogels.Chitin nanofiber aerogels were ultralight and sponge-like.Acidic media had positive effect on the porosity of chitin aerogels which provide a way to obtain aerogels in porosity requirement such as gas filter,new catalysts and catalytic carriers.
