PREPARATION OF PHOTOCATALYTIC PAPER LOADED WITH POLYDOPAMINE AND TIO2 NANAPARTICLES

  Photocatalytic paper is a composite photocatalyst generally formed by loading semi-conductors such as TiO2 nanoparticles on papers,and attracts sustaining interests.In this paper,softwood fiber was modified by in situ synthesized poly-dopamine(PDA),and used to make photocatalytic paper together with unmodified softwood fiber and TiO2 nanoparticles.The photocatalytic performance of the as-prepared photocatalytic paper was analyzed by decomposing methyl orange(MO)under UV light irradiation.It was found that the occurrence of the PDA modified fiber can significantly improve the photocatalytic activity of the as-prepared photocatalytic paper.The paper with highest photocatalytic activity was made when the PDA modified fiber to pristine cellulose fiber reaches1:1.
