Study on the catalytic liquefaction of corn stalk by phosphoric acid and analysis of its products
In this experiment, the corn stalk powder was used as raw material, concentrated phosphoric acid as reaction catalyst, and hydroxy alcohol was used as liquefaction agent. The effects of polyethylene glycol on the liquefaction yield of corn stalk and the properties of biomass oil products were investigated.Chemical composition of stalk biomass oil was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS).Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR)was used to analyze the main functional groups of raw material and liquefaction residues.Scanning electron microscope(SEM)was utilized to analyze the morphological structure of the raw material and the liquefaction residues. Results showed that liquefaction rate could reach 97.19%under the following conditions:temperature 170℃,reaction time 60,liquid solid ratio5:1,catalyst dosage of 10%.GC-MS analysis showed that the composition of bio oil is complex, mainly including alcohols, organic acids, esters, ketones and sugars and other compounds.FT-IR analysis showed that the characteristic functional groups of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin in corn stalk were almost completely disappeared, and the liquefaction effect was very good.SEM analysis showed that the surface morphology of liquefaction residue and corn stalk was completely different. The fiber structure could not be seen in the residue, which indicating corn stalk was basically completely liquefied.
