TEMPO-Mediated Oxidation of High-Kappa Number Bamboo Kraft Pulp
In this work,the detailed investigation of morphology and property analysis of high-kappa number bamboo kraft pulp was oxidized by TEMPO/NaClO/NaBr system.The results showed that the morphology and properties of high-kappa number bamboo kraft pulp was significantly changed after the oxidation.The oxidized pulp was similar to hydrogel,and the crystallinity was slightly increased,but the thermal stability was obviously decreased.The contents of carboxyl groups of the treated high-kappa number bamboo kraft pulp was 0.78 mmol/g,indicated that the treatment can achieve the carboxylation modification of pulp.Moreover,this study demonstrates that unbleached pulp also could be used for the preparation of nanocellulose.
