THE CATIONIC MODIFICATION OF MICRO FIBRILLATED CELLULOSE AND ITS APPLICATION IN PAPER SHEET STRENGTH
Cationic microfibrillated cellulose(CMFC),a friendly modification product of MFC,was prepared by a combination of cationic pretreatment and homogenization under the following optimizing conditions: the etherification temperature 50℃~60℃,the time for etherification 150~180 min,the dosage of CHPTAC and anhydroglucose units in cellulose molar ratio of 0.8,and the molar alkali to CHPTAC ratio of 2.0.The structure of CMFC was characterized by Fourier transform infrared(FTIR).Besides,the surface charge of CMFC increased with longer homogenized time.It was also found that the CMFC had more positive effects on water filtration performance than CPAM and strength properties such as tensile index of NBKP than cationic starch(CS).
