THE RHEOLOGY AND CURING PROPERTIES OF CELLULOSE-NANOFIBERS/POLYACRYLI C RESIN MIXTURE FOR 3D PRINTING

  As a rapid prototyping technology,three dimensional 3D printing has attracted more interesting because of its high efficiency,high speed and high precision.And developing new materials for 3D printing is a currently interest topic.A novelty waterborne UV-curing material for 3D printing was prepared by mixing the freeze-dried cellulose-nanofibers(CNFs)with photopolymerizable s carboxyl and mass content on dispersion and rheology of CNFs/CR mixture were investigated.Then the CNFs/CR mixture was used to fabricate the dumbbell-shaped and the honeycomb-like hydrogel by Stereolithograph SLA process.The dumbbell-shaped hydrogels mechanical properties and the honeycomb patterns precision were studied as well.The results showed that the mixture with different CNFs content are all uniform and transparent,displaying a well dispersing performance.For low shear rate of less than 10 s-1,the viscosity of the mixture with 2.4%CNFs(1.41 mmol/g)content is 4.21 Pa.s which is suitable for SLA; when the content increases to 2.8%,the s viscosity increases to 6.72 Pa.s which meets the ink-s requirements.When the carboxyl content increases from 1.22,1.37,1.53 and 1.73mmol/g,the tensile modulus of dumbbell-shaped hydrogel is correspondingly 5.22,3.52,3.05 and 2.14 MPa.A clear honeycomb pattern with high precision can be obtained under the curing time of 20s and photoinitiator dosage of 0.1%.Therefore the viscosity of CNFs/CR mixture with light-curing can be controlled to meet the requirements of SLA and ink-jet printing and may find applications in 3D printing.
