Thermal Field of Low Frequency Vibration Assisted EDM Process
In electrical discharge machining(EDM),thedischarge time is extremely shortand the discharge status is extremely bad.Therefore,it is difficult to observethe process directly.In this paper,the method of simulation analysis is introduced to study the surface temperature field of workpiecetheoretically.A new model of single pulse discharge machining is established byABAQUS.The rules of temperature in workpiece surface with timeand change rules of width and depth of the discharge crater with discharge voltage are investigated.The results show that with the increase of discharge voltage and discharge time,heat source area wouldexpand,and the temperature of discharge area wouldimprove.Meanwhile,the width and depth of the craters would increase with the increase of discharge voltage.And finally,the correctness of the simulation results areproved by experiments.
