Inclination angle effects in machining process and surface quality for rotary ultrasonic multi-axis ball end milling of quartz glass with diamond tool

  Quartz glass is widely used in some industry fields.The inclination angles greatly affect the machining characteristics and machined surface quality.This paper analyzed the effects of tool compound inclination angles on the actual depth of cut and investigated the abrasive movement characteristics and dynamic tool-workpiece contact action during the surface formation process for rotary ultrasonic multi-axis ball end milling with compound inclination angles.Also,the machined surface topography and surface roughness corresponding to different tool postures were analyzed.
