Experimental Study in Ultrasonic Vibration Assisted Drilling of 1J22 Soft Magnetic Alloy
As a kind of soft magnetic alloy with high saturation magnetic induction,1J22 is commonly used in aerospace fields.Several problems are pointed out in the conventional drilling(CD)process of 1J22 such as high cutting force,severe tool wear,low service life.In this paper,ultrasonic vibration assisted drilling(UAD)is used for the improvement of 1J22 drilling experiment.Ultrasonic vibration system used for comparative experiments of UAD and CD of 1J22 is designed by Dalian University of Technology.Additionally,the cutting force and tool wear of UAD and CD of drilling 1J22 under different processing parameters were studied.The experimental results were analyzed theoretically.According to the experimental results,the cutting force decreased obviously in the UAD processcomparing with CD.Tool wear degree of chisel edge and major cutting edge had been significantly decreased.Therefore,the tool wear condition is improved.In addition,the problems of high cutting force and low tool life of 1J22can be greatly improved by UAD.
