Design and Application of Hydrostatic Bearings Using Annular Gap Restrictor for Precision Machine Tools

　　Hydrostatic bearings are the foundation of precision and ultra-precision machine tools.Their precision comes from the error averaging effect of oil film.This paper firstly introduces an annular gap restrictor.Based on the restrictor,this paper introduces the error averaging effect using the hydrostatic guideways as an example.Then,design methods of five kinds of hydrostatic bearings are discussed,including two kinds of hydrostatic guideways,two kinds of hydrostatic rotary tables and one kind of axial locking-prevention hydrostatic spindle.After that,their motion accuracies are measured.Finally,the application examples of such bearings on precision machine tools are introduced.
