Analysis for the Sieve Structure of Pulp Pressure Screen Based on CFD

  Rippled type drum is the mainly kind of pressure screen drum for papermaking,which is also called bar screen drum and composed with lots of bars fixed by solid rings.Recently,the investigation of pressure screen drum is focused on the shape of ripple,ignoring the influence on pressure screen drum of other parts of the bars.The aim of this paper is to investigate the influence on pressure screen drum of length and width for one specific model bar.CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics)is used to simulate the different size models by Realizable k-ε model,then the speed of the pulp flow from sieve seam,the pressure difference between internal and external of screen drum,and the changes of turbulence intensity around the sieve seam are analyzed.The changes of the length and width of the bar cause obvious influence on the pressure difference between internal and external of screen drum and the turbulence intensity around the sieve seam.By simulation,an optimal length and width of sieve is found,increasing the effect of backwashing and the smallest changes of turbulence intensity,reducing the resistance of the pulp out of the screen.
