Research on Precision Press-fit Assembly of Small Interference Fitting Parts
Interference fitting parts are widely used in many engineering applications.In order to estimate assembly quality,a new analytical model was built to predict the press-fit curve.The established finite element model was also used for press-fit curve prediction.To assemble small parts with the required high accuracy,an automatic press-fit instrument was developed.Through analyzing relation between pressing force and the instruments elastic deformation,press-fit displacement error was compensated.Vision alignment module with upper and lower machine vision units was used to detect alignment error of parts,and calibration method of this module was proposed.The assembly experiments showed that the new analytical model has high accuracy to predict the press-fit curve,and the calibration method bas a high efficient to improve the alignment and assembly accuracy to meet the assembly requirements.
