Numerical Simulation of Dendritic Growth of Fe-C Binary Alloy Using Cellular Automation Model
The previous developed 2D CA-FVM model,which incorporates the momentum,energy,and species conservation equations with the kinetics equation of dendritic growth,has been developed by our group(Lab of Advanced Smelting and Casting,Northeastern University,China)to investigated the dendritic growth during the solidification of steel.In the present study,our previous works on the numerical simulation of dendritic growth for the continuously cast steel are briefly reviewed.Some interesting phenomena,such as: heterogenous nucleation,competitive growth,solute distribution,etc.have been well predicted.
