Simulation of Fluid Flow in an Integrated Eight-strand Tundish with Different Configurations

　　In the present study,three different tundish configurations have been investigated with physical modeling and mathematical simulation methods: the original tundish,the original tundish equipped with tunnel filters and the original tundish equipped with dam & weir.The results indicated that the tunnel filters play an important role in promoting fluid flow characteristics.Among all types of configurations investigated in this study,the original tundish equipped with tunnel filters was reasonably found to be the optimum tundish configuration in view of inclusion removal efficiency.Meanwhile,a superior strand similarity is also achieved in this tundish configuration.
