Stability analysis for crowd evacuation based on self-organized criticality theory
In the case of disasters, panic spread often makes crowd unstable in the area of emergency management. The crowd stampede,as typical unstable state, caused by panic spread often occurs, leading to huge fatalities.More and more pedestrians are crushed or trampled in the crowd stampedes around the world during recent decades. To study the stability of crowd evacuation, this paper introduces the self-organized criticality theory(SOCT).Then the intelligent crowd-evacuation model is employed to output the evacuation behavior.By constructing the crowd panic mapping network, the stability problem of crowd evacuation is transformed into the stability problem of panic sand-pile model, and the evacuation stability condition and instability evolution mechanism are studied further. This paper can provide scientific basis and theoretical support for rational organization, guidance of crowd evacuation and prevention of possible stampede.
