Berthing support system using laser and marine hydrometeorological sensors
Berthing support system is widely used in ship berthing to ensure the safety.In this paper,we focus on ship berthing support using laser sensor for distance measurement and marine hydro meteorological sensors for wind,wave and current measurement.A laser berthing model is proposed.Leveraging on the model,stern and bow distance,speed,stern and bow direction and ship steering angle can be calculated.An experiment is carried out with prototype system and the result shows its feasibility.
