Research on Thermal Performance of AC-LED Light Engine Driven by Segmented Linear Constant Current Driver
In this paper,the thermal performance of AC-LED(Alternative Current Light Emitting Diode)light engines driven by two types of alternative current input voltage were analyzed,based on the results of transient temperature rise measurements using infrared camera module.The one was driven by 110V alternative current,and the another one was 220V alternative current.A novel infrared image measurement platform for researching the thermal performance of AC-LED light engine was built,and the measurement methods was proposed.The thermal performance of AC-LED strings and PCB(Printed Circuit Board)on AC-LED light engines were compared.According to different Ton of each AC-LED strings,the AC-LED chips presented regularly and non-uniformly temperature distribution.Though the temperature of AC-LED light engine working at 110V AC was lower than 220V AC,the results presented the two AC-LED light engines showed similar thermal performance((T-)1st>(T-)2nd>(T-)3rd>(T-)4th).The analysis presented in this work could result in a better design for PCB layout and heat sink of AC-LED light engine.
