A Theoretical Solution of The Icing Thickness Correction Coefficients for Various Wire Diameters and Icing Types

  Based on the theoretic model of wire icing and applied a simplified formula to calculate the droplets collision rate which was verified by comparison with the Finstads that has been universally accepted,a theoretical solution of the icing thickness correction coefficients for various wire diameters was derived and a new calculation scheme was proposed.Comparison to those recommended by the Chinese Power Industry Standard and previous studies,the results showed the new scheme had preferable theortical advantage and universality.Applying of the new scheme revealed the distinct features of the icing thickness correction coefficients for different icing types including glaze,rime and mixed icing,that is of theoretical referenced value for the anti-icing design of power transmission lines.
