2016 Cloud Calibration of 3m×2m Icing Wind Tunnel
3m×2m icing wind tunnel is one of lagest icing wind tunnel in the world.It is a imimportant mean to research icing problem about airplane,wind turbine,bridge,bullet train and so on.The wind tunnel is a multi-purpose facility that can be used for ground simulation of the cloud conditions responsible for ice accretion on aircrafts.It has three test section of different size.Accord to correlative criterion,a full cloud calibration about the main test section was finished last year for some Facility changes.This report summarizes the current status of the 3m×2m Icing Wind Tunnel cloud calibration: specifically,the cloud uniformity,liquid water content,and drop-size calibration results from the April-May 2016 full cloud calibration.The goal of the calibration was to develop a uniform cloud,and to generate a transfer function from the inputs of air speed,spray bar atomizing air pressure and water pressure to the outputs of median volumetric drop diameter and liquid water content.
