SCADA Data Analysis of Wind Farm in Cold Climate Regions

　　Cold climate regions have good potential for wind energy development,however icing on wind turbines is considered a negative effect,limiting wind energy production in ice prone regions.This paper describes preliminary SCADA data analysis of a wind farm in cold climate region,particularly icing events detection from wind turbine using SCADA data.Three years(2013–2015)of SCADA data is used for this study.Vertical and horizontal analysis of wind turbine SCADA data has been performed.Icing on wind turbines can significantly influence wind turbine performance and resultant power production,and,therefore needs a considerable attention for wind turbines operations in cold climate regions.
