Study on the Structure Design of Special Insulators for Distribution Network

  In this paper,the special insulators combining the arrester and insulator are developed,which are applied to distribution network.The anti-ice flash shed configuration are applied to the special insulator with the ability to prevent ice and lightning at the same time.Based on the working mechanism of the special insulators,the electrical performance of the insulation section is experimentally analyzed.The results indicate that with the diameter of discharge ball ranging from 9.87mm to 39.98mm,the air gap distance of discharge balls with different diameters decreased from 80.32mm to 32.54mm under 100kV positive lightning impulse.The breakdown characteristic of air gap are significant increase in the impact of rain with the discharge ball diameter increasing under wet tolerance test of 26kV power frequency.The diameter of the discharge ball should be ≯ 25mm according to the experimental results.The supporting item with different lengths are test under positive lightning impulse voltage.The empirical formula was obtained.The results indicate that with the length of the supporting item rising from 25mm to 60mm,the breakdown voltage rises from 67.19kV to 150.20kV.Based on the experimental results and design principles,the length of supporting item should be≮ 60mm.The experimental results provides a design basis for parameter design of the special insulators for distribution network.
