Analysis of Insulator Anti-icing Configuration for Cross-region DC Transmission Line in Hunan Province
At the beginning of 2008,an infrequent and serious ice cover disaster in the South resulted in bad ice transmission lines,large-scale collapsed tower and long-playing power breakdown.In order to improve the capacity of responding to natural disasters,research on ability to anti icing of DC transmission cross-line in Hunan province which voltage class is above 500kV is conducted in detail,providing references for pre-control measures during freezing preventing and ice melting period.Based on the latitude and longitude coordinates of four DC transmission line tower,the paper analyze the field data of interregional DC transmission line insulator configuration,combining with ice and pollution area chart of Hunan province.By using the ArcGIS software,it also locates the icing and contamination situation of each tower with the evaluation index of potential gradient,so as to check whether the length of composite insulator can meet the flashover requirement.Results indicated that 56.5%of insulators in Binjin line configuration gradient were above reference gradient,and it was recommended that operating the power system with a lower voltage of 630kV once covered with ice.40.9%of insulators in Fufeng line run the risk of flashover,and the lower voltage is recommended to 650kV.Moreover,39.2%of insulators in Jinsu line could flashover easily under the extreme environment.At last,the Jiangcheng line attain a extremely low insulation configuration and had about 69.4%of insulation which configuration gradient size are above or close reference gradient.As a consequence of this,it should be operated at a lower voltage once iced.
