Influence of Water Content on the Flashover Voltage of Snow

摘要：

　　Atmospheric icing on insulators is of great danger to power systems.As one kind of precipitation,snow has different characteristics from ice.It is well known that ice is more harmful to external insulation of power systems compared to snow.However,snow has caused flashover accident on insulators in China.The study of snow flashover characteristics is necessary in order to prevent snow flashover accident.The water content of snow is focused on in this study,as it has great influence on snow characteristics.This paper also explain the relation between snow water content and flashover voltage.
