The Influence of Booster Sheds on AC Flashover Performance of Ice-covered 110kV and 220kV Post Insulator

  Ice is a particular type of contamination.In order to study the anti-icing effect of the booster sheds,the ice flashover test of 110kV and 220kV post insulators with booster sheds was carried out in an artificial climatic chamber.The effect of booster sheds on the icing morphology in the clean state is analyzed.The discharge process and ice flashover voltage of 110kV and 220kV post insulators are analyzed preliminarily.According to the test results,the ice flashover voltage of the two kinds of post insulators are much lower than the operating voltage under the condition of ice covered 10mm.When the 110kV post insulator is equipped with a booster sheds,the ice flashover voltage is doubled,higher than the actual operating voltage,and the anti-icing flashover performance is obvious;After adding the booster sheds,the ice flashover voltage of the 220kV post insulator is increased by 12%,still lower than the actual operating voltage,and the layout of the booster sheds should be optimized.
