Study on the DC Snow Flash Characteristics of 110kV Polluted Post Insulator

  During the snow melting period,the electrical insulation performance of the snow-covered post insulators is greatly weakened and that may threaten the operation of substations or converter stations.Plenty of DC snowing flashover tests were carried out based on three kinds of polluted post insulators in an artificial climate chamber.The snow-covered conditions of different post insulators were compared,and the influence of equivalent salt deposit density(ESSD)and umbrella type on the snowing flashover voltage were investigated.The results show that the 50%snowing flashover voltage(U50)of post insulators decreases with the increase of the pollution degree of snow-covered post insulators and show a negative power-law relationship with the pollution degree.The pollution impact feature index(a)of snowed insulators influenced by umbrella types.
