Dynamic Channel Utilization Method for Software Defined WMN with Awareness of Radio Interference and Wireless Link Rate
This paper proposes a dynamic channel utilization method to minimize transmission delay by considering radio interference and wireless link rate for software defined multi-channel wireless mesh networks(SD-WMN).The OpenFlow technology,which enables us to control flows by programming,is employed to effectively utilize multiple channels in SD-WMN for traffic balancing.Existing methods assume fixed wireless link rate,which only consider radio interference to select channels for achieving load balancing.In this paper,we propose an efficient method that can jointly consider both radio interference and wireless link rate.Simulation results confirm that the proposed method outperforms existing methods by effectively reducing total transmission delay.
