A Modified Vivaldi Antenna with Notched Frequency Characteristics

  In this paper,a new type of vivaldi antenna,which covers 1.5~14GHz band,is proposed.By adding Y-shaped slots on both sides of the radiation patch,the surface current of the proposed antenna is converged to the tapered slot line.Meanwhile,the impedance matching capability of the proposed antenna is improved because of the extension of the surface current path.The proposed antenna provides 161%fractional bandwidth from 1.5GHz to 14GHz,with the gain has a maximum increase of 2dB at low frequency band compared with the original antenna.And the combination of the CSRR and Y-shaped structures improves the notched frequency characteristics of the proposed antenna,achieving an isolation in the WLAN frequency band(5.125~5.825 GHz).At last,the test result of the fabricated antenna demonstrates the reliability of the design.
