Optimal Pricing for On-Demand Platform with Self-Schedule Capacity
In peer-to-peer markets(known as the sharing economy),everyone have access to be a independent provider(supplier)through sharing their idle resources with other people on the platform. Those independent providers choose when to work based on compensations offered and their individual availability, they schedule their time on the platforms by themselves instead of scheduling by platforms. This behavior is known as the self-scheduled behavior. There is a clear trade-off for this behavior: the more their own idle resources are shared on the platform,on one hand, their will obtain more incomes from those service,on the other hand, with more people sharing their idle resources on the platform, the supply may exceed the demand which leads to less income from the service. In this paper we study the optimal pricing problem of on-demand platform with self-scheduled capacity.
