MAPPING SOLAR RADIATION AT DIFFERENT TIMESCALES BASED ON BOTH SUNSHINE DURATION AND DIURNAL TEMPERATURE RANGE IN CHINA
Previous studies of the spatiotemporal variation of solar radiation are mainly focused on the annual changes. However while higher time resolution spatiotemporal distributions of solar radiation, which will be more important for different biogeochemical and hydrological processes with different timescales, are limited,.In this paper, the spatiotemporal distribution of solar radiation at annual and seasonal timescales in China were mapped based on three widely used models including the (A)ngstr(o)m-Prescott model,Hargreaves-Samani model, and Bristow-Campbell model. Results showed that the annual solar radiation decreased significantly in the Eastern monsoon zone and the Northwestern arid zone. The seasonal solar radiation decreased in most of the seasons in the Northwestern arid zone and the decreasing trends were particularly significant in spring and autumn in the Eastern monsoon zone. The changing trends of solar radiation were not significant in most of the seasons in the Tibetan Plateau frigid zone. Moreover,“From diming to brightening occurs in winter, annual and particularly in spring radiation changes,The summer solar radiation showed a continuous decreasing trend, and a slight decreasing trend was detected in autumn solar radiation.
