THICKNESS-VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF CIRCULAR AT-CUT QUARTZ RESONATORS PARTIALLY COVERED WITH CENTRAL ELECTRODES
Vibration frequencies and trapped modes for thickness-shear vibrations of infinite and finite partially electroded circular AT-cut quartz plates are obtained by solving the two-dimensional scalar differential equations derived by Tiersten and Smythe.The Mathieu and modified Mathieu equations are derived from the governing equation using coordinate transform and collocation method is used to deal with the boundary conditions.The current study provides a theoretical way for conducting the vibration analysis of circular quartz resonators.
