STRUCTURE AND ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF PMN-BS-PT PIEZOELECTRIC CERAMICS

  The structure, micromorphology, and electrical properties of the xPb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-(1-x)(0.3BiScO3/0.7PbTiO3) (xPMN-BS-PT, x=0.34~0.42) compositions close to the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) have been systematically investigated as a function of PMN content (x).The phase approached from the rhombohedral toward the tetragonal phase when the PMN contents decreased.The composition with high PMN content exhibited a diffused phase transition characteristic while it showed normal ferroelectric behavior as PMN decreased.In the vicinity of the MPB, the composition (x=0.38) owned enhanced ferroelectric, piezoelectric, and electromechanical properties.
