Potential application: ionized alkali mineral complexrelieve the negative effectof heat stress on dairy cows
Introduction Heat stress is a major factor which leads to dramatic negative effects on milk production of dairy cows in summer. The optimum environmental temperature for dairy cow is from 5 to 25℃.When the ambient temperature is higher than 25 ℃, most of dairy cows will be in heat stress status with the character that a temperature-humidity index (THI) exceeded 72.Then the increase of rectal temperatures and respiration rates and the decrease of dry mater intake (DMI) and the milk yield in lactating dairy cows will be resulted (Armstrong, 1994, Min et at, 2015).Previous researches have been demonstrated that the negative effects of heat stress could be relieved with the nutritional regulation.Ionized alkali mineral complex(IAMC) has been confirmed as a nonspecific immunostimulator which could keep the normal physiological function by stimulating the activity of immune cellswith the major component dipotassium hydrogen phosphate (Shin et al, 2015).Thus, the objective of this study is to evaluate the affect of IAMC on dairy cows in heat stress condition.
