Period2 gene silencing increases the synthesis of casein protein in bovine mammary epithelial cells
Introduction Studies have confirmed that Period2 (PER2), a core component of circadian oscillator(Moriyama et al.,2008;Sakamoto et al., 2009),played a key role in regulating biological circadian rhythm fluctuations including protein metabolism through transcriptional effects(Bae et al., 2001;Zheng et al., 2001).The objective of this study was to determine the effect of the suppression of PER2 expression on casein synthesis of bovine mammary epithelial cells (BMEC).
