Adaptive Impedance Identification of Circuit Breakers Protection Characteristic Tests
Circuit breakers have played important roles in the power distribution network. The protection characteristics need to be investigated during the manufacturing process to improve the product reliability. The protection characteristic tests can be affected due to the existence of electric contact and electromagnetic coil.To improve the measurement accuracy, an adaptive identification method has been developed to estimate the equivalent impedance during the measurement process. The adaptive law is implemented with the gradient method. The impedance value can be estimated with the measured voltage and current. To improve the robustness of the estimation, a dead-zone based filter is used to compensate the influence of system noise.Simulation and experimental results show that the convergence of the adaptive identification can be obtained by using the dead-zone based filter.Circuit impedance can be estimated effectively with limited error.
