The Influence of the Crystal Water in Facile Synthesis the Nitrogen Doped Carbon Dots

In this experiment, we mainly explore whether the crystal water in the precursors will influence the photoluminescence (PL)properties on the carbon dots (CDs).Nitrogen (N) doped CDs (N-CDs) are prepared by mixing ethanediamine with the citric acid (CA) and the citric acid mono-hydrate (CWCA) respectively via one-step hydrothermal method.The intensity of the photoluminescence of the CWCA-CDs is higher than that of the CA-CDs and the position of the emission of the N-CDs displays an obvious red shift.Though the same peak position, the CWCA-CDs reveals higher absorption strength.What is more, the Raman spectrum was tested as the further evidence.For comparison, sulphur doped CDs (S-CDs) was prepared in the same way, and the data exhibits that the crystal water hardly has an effect on the S-CDs.
