Higher Quantum States of Colloidal Quantum Dot and Infrared Optoelectronic Applications

The prominent feature of the colloidal quantum dot (CQD) is the size-tunable bandgap energy that has been intensively utilized for the last three decades.The origin of the size-tunable bandgap energy is the quantum confinement effect occurring when the excition is created inside the confined space smaller than the exciton Bohr radius.The quantum confinement effect is applied to other transitions as well as the bandgap transition.The electronic transition occurring in the conduction band, intraband transition, is size-tunable as well.
