Aligned Magnetic Hydrogel for Biomedical Application

Introduction Hydrogel attracts increasingly interests from biomedical researchers because of the advantages in good biocompatibility, high drug loadings and flexible tuning of phase transition.By integration with functional nanomaterials, the hydrogel can be given good controllability responding to external stimuli.Magnetic hydrogel was generally fabricated by mixing magnetic nanoparticles with the polymer monomers for gelation so that the collective behavior of hydrogel can be controlled by the external magnetic field.Here, we furthermore fabricated the aligned magnetic hydrogel by applying a magnetic field during the gelation of magnetic nanoparticles and polymer monomers.Some biomedical applications of the aligned magnetic hydrogel were shown.
