Controllable Synthesis of CuS Nanowires and Their Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity

  CuS nanowires were successfully prepared through a template-free chemical solution method in a dimethyl sulfoxide and ethylene glycol mixture solvent.Their structures and morphologies were characterized using an X-my diffractormeter, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope,and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller measurement.CuS nanowires have a uniform diameter of 6 nm and lengths up to several micrometers.As-prepared CuS nanowires exhibit photocatalytic activity of 98% for methylene blue in 60 min.They show much better photocatalytic activity than CuS microsphercial-flowers and CuS nanospheres.
