The Electrochemical Performance of LiMn2-xNixO4 by a Flameless Combustion Synthesis

1.Introduction Since Sonys success in commercializing the first lithium ion battery with LiCoO2 as cathode in 1991, LiMn2O4 spinel as a very promising cathode was widely study due to its high energy density, low cost, low toxicity and environmental friendliness 1-5.However, there are some obviously problem that LiMn2O4 show a poor cycle capacity and poor rate performance, especially the seriously fade capacity at elevated temperature, which has reswained its development.
