Developing Citizen Focused and Integrated Services for the Wellbeing of Elderly-Examples from Finland
1.Introduction Like many other nations, Finland is today facing challenges in providing health and well-being services to the rapidly ageing population. The principle of guaranteeing universal access for all residents to affordable health and other services at every stage of their lives has been a key principle of the social and economic policy of Finland.Additional challenges stem from the need to serve both the urban and the geographically wide and sparsely populated rural areas.Innovations that enable older people to live at home and enjoy a good and active life in these varying environments are of great demand.
