Silk Fibroin-based Bifurcated Woven Endovascular Prosthesis
In the present work, six kinds of bifurcated woven endovascular prosthesis (BWEPs) were prepared from silk and polyester yarn using a modified rigid rapier weaving loom and producing process was optimized.Their yarn linear density (warp×weft) (D(denier)/filament count): 22/1PET×22/12 raw silk;22/1PET×22/12degummedsilk.The warp×weft density is 1000/10cm×800/10cm,1000/10cm×l400/10cm and 1000/10cm×2000/10cm.The surface morphology, mechanical properties, porosity and water permeability of the BWEPs were examined and impacting factors were analyzed by comparing commercial SGs VP1200K according to ISO 7198:1998.The result shows that the new BWEP made from polyester and degummed silk possesses better performance in terms of surface uniformity, mechanical properties and water permeability, so that which is more suitable as endovascular prosthesis in human body.
