Research on Functional Finishing of Silk Fabric viaTea Polyphenols-Reduced Graphene Oxide

In recent years, much attention has been paid to exploring environmentally friendly reductants for production of graphene from graphite oxide making full use of its outstanding properties and endowing the modified fabric with multi-functionalityat the same time.In this paper,we aimed to reduce and modify the graphene oxide (GO) by tea polyphenols, as well to obtain tea polyphenols/graphene (TP/RGO) functional finished silk fabric. The dyeing and finishing processes of silk fabric had been achieved by tea polyphenols and graphene respectively through metal mordant dyeing and traditional roll-dry-cure method.Factors that may affect results of the finishing treatment were observed, including mordant, time, temperature, concentration and so on.The structures and physicochemical properties of the resulting products were characterized by FT-IR.In addition, characteristics like anti-ultraviolet and antibiotic resistance were measured respectively by UPF as well as inhibition rate of the fabric.Through experiment, TP was capable of both reducing GO and stabilizing graphene. The results indicated much better anti-ultraviolet, antibacterial properties of silk fabric after treated by TP/RGO.
