Ornamental traits of a recently developed OO lily population
This study reports a successful OO cross in the lily family, from which 261 F1 plants were produced. The results of the experiment showed that groups 1, 2 and 3 were significantly different (P>0.05) from groups 4 and 5 in flower circumference.Flower color was measured by using an NS800 spectrophotometer. The results showed that there was a significant difference (P>0.05) among plants in L, A and B.The whitest petals belonged to plant number 7, and the darkest to plant number 123,with L rates of 83.20 and 51.73, respectively. The lowest A value was-1.87 in individual 163 was and the highest was 26.83 in individual 43.The highest and lowest values of B were obtained from plants 70 and 235, with rates of 28.48 and 3.48,respectively.It was clearly seen that the highest values of outer petal length and width were produced in group 1, and the lowest values were in group 5.For individual plants, the maximum outer petal length was in plant number 215 and the minimum in plant number 198, at 16 and 8.8 cm, respectively. The number of spots on the inner petals was much higher than on the outer petals in all groups. The most spots on inner and outer petals were produced on individuals 209 and 197, at 207 and 99,respectively.Group 1 had the largest and group 5 had the smallest spot size on inner petals, while the largest spots on the outer petals were produced in groups 1 and 2,and the smallest were in group 5.
