Single Neuron Adaptive Power PID Control System for a Cold Milling Machine
According to the insufficiency of the existing adaptive power control algorithmic of the cold milling machine, the single neuron adaptive power control algorithmic and the control structure for the machine is designed.Whether the single neuron adaptive power control algorithmic used in a cold milling machine is proper or not is proved by the theoretical analysis. Then the control algorithmic is realized with a 16 bit controller. And a field experiment when the mills at the depth of 8cm is done to test the control algorithmic and control system. The results show that the machine is often overload and the average work speed is 8.419m/min without the control system. When the adaptive control system is installed on the machine, it works at its rate work condition mostly during its work process. The machine work speed is adjusted by the control system in time when the load is changed and the machine average work speed can reach to 9.538m/min which is 13.3% higher than the machine that is not installed an adaptive power control system.
