Seismic Analysis of Tower Crane Based on Spectral Response

  Seismic load is one of the main causes which results in significant damage to tower crane.In order to analysis the anti-seismic performance, the finite element model (FEM)of QTZ63 tower crane was established.The seismic response calculation was carried out by spectral analysis.The displacement and stress response of the tower crane under earthquake intensity of 8 degree were obtained.Especially, the case that the crane subjects to lifting load,gravity and earthquake at the same time is considered.Results showed that the maximum displacement and stress both occurred on tower arm.Combing with the model analysis result, it can be concluded that the damage to the tower arm due to bending vibration in low order modal is the main cause.The conclusion provides theoretical foundation for the layout of stress monitoring points, and a reference for tower crane structure optimization.
