Discuss on the Method of Developing an Automated Pothole Spray Patcher
Pothole repair is a common maintenance work in highway pavement repair, and spray pothole patching method has been confirmed to be effective and environmentfriendly.But the repair process of existed pothole spray patcher is mainly based on the operators experience.This paper presented a plan to automate pothole spraying technology,which could be realized by developing an automated pothole spray patcher from two aspects, i.e.automate the pothole detection process and automate the pothole repair path planning.Through comparing different pothole detection methods, Kinect sensor was selected to achieve three-dimensional information of potholes.With respect to path planning, the shortest path of pothole repair sequence was calculated with GA algorithm.The path of nozzle manipulator was proposed to achieve using directly slicing point cloud technique,and the procedures were sketched out.
