Experiment and AnalysisagainstGaussian Shaped Removal Function in Fluid Jet Polishing
As a kind of novel manufacturing technique, Fluid Jet Polishing(FJP) has been used for precision machining on optic surfacedue to the advantages of high machining accuracy, low sub-surface damage,excellent shape and position adaptability.However, the defect of removal function caused by the remove mechanism and inherent characterhas become the key problem which restricts the application to the optics precision machining.In this paper, the experiment and analysis of Gaussian shaped removal function was conducted.Firstly, the statics spot producing experiment was processed based on four axis FJP device,the results showed that the static processing can hardly export ideal removal function.Secondly, the rotation process was used for optimization of removal function and the Gaussian shaped removal function was produced.Finally, the morphology and symmetricalcharacteristics was discussed and presented that the Gaussian shaped removal functionwas excellent for precision process of optical surface in fluid jet polishing.
