Rotary ultrasonic vibration assisted arc machine design
Hard and brittle materials with high hardness, high brittleness characteristics, the use of traditional methods of hard and brittle materials processing is very difficult.Arc machining is similar to EDM, and arc machining uses electrodes to generate discharge arc groups to erode materials.The current density produced by arc machining is much larger than the current density produced by EDM,so arc machining has higher processing efficiency than EDM.According to the characteristics of hard brittle materials,design a kind of rotary ultrasonic vibration assisted arc processing machine tool.Machine tool adopting C type structure.The design of the machine tool consist of three axes X, Y, Z, rotary ultrasonic spindle, marble table, columns and working liquid.The rotary spindle of the core part is designed, which has the function of electrode rotation and ultrasonic vibration.CNC system is developed to industrial computer as the upper machine and the IMAC-400 motion control card for the next bit machine master-slave open numerical control system.The small hole micro-graphs were studied by this device with different thickness of spring alloy steel.The small hole micro-graphs were analyzed by Matlab for small hole edge detection and roundness calculation and compared with each other.The results show that the cavities processed by ultrasonic vibration are better and the edges are smoother.
