Compliance Distribution in Longitudinal Direction of Endovascular Stent Grafts Incorporated with Polyethylene Terephthalate and Polyurethane Grafts
Endovascular stent grafts are widely used in clinical. The long-term results of stent graft migration, endoleaks and blood flow disorders could be related to the compliance mismatch between stent graft and host artery. While it is lack of studies on stent graft compliance at present. This preliminary study aims to investigate the stent grafts compliance distribution along longitudinal direction since its stented and unstented regions placed alternately. And whether compliance of grafts would make a difference on compliance of stent grafts was studied with two stent grafts incorporated with polyethylene terephthalate (PET-SG) and polyurethane (PU-SG) grafts separately.Totally ten positions were selected for compliance evaluation, five evenly spaced in stented zone, others evenly spaced in unstented zone.Compliance of PET-SG was relatively lower than that of PU-SG and consistent longitudinally. For PU-SG, middle section of stented zone showed lower value of compliance than two ends of it, middle portion of unstented zone reached the highest compliance reversely. The results showed that a higher value and nonuniform distribution of compliance longitudinally would be achieved with a more compliant graft, however lower but uniform compliance distribution got with a less compliant graft.
